<p>Celine Dion has shared a rare health update, and revealed that she is determined to get back onstage despite her battle with stiff person syndrome. </p> <p>The singer took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with son René-Charles Angélil, 23, and 13-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson. </p> <p>“Trying to overcome this auto-immune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible,” she shared on Friday. </p> <p>“I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!”</p> <p>She shared the post in honour of stiff person syndrome awareness day, which falls on the 15th of March. </p> <p>“I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world that have been affected by SPS,” she continued in her post. </p> <p>“I want you to know you can do it! Celine Dion shares powerful message of hope

<p>Celine Dion has shared a powerful statement about her health battle since being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome. </p> <p>The French-Canadian musician has chronicled her health journey in a new documentary titled <em>I Am: Celine Dion</em>, and took to Instagram to promote the new film. </p> <p>While sharing with her legion of fans how her health has progressed, she said she remains hopeful that she will one day return to the stage.</p> <p>In a lengthy post, she wrote, “This last couple of years has been such a challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with and manage it, but not to let it define me." </p> <p>"As the road to resuming my performing career continues, I have realised how much I have missed it, of being able to see my fans." </p> <p>"During this absence, I decided I wanted to document this part of my life, to try to raise awareness of this little-known condition, to help others who share this diagnosis.” </p> <p>In December 2022, Celine announced that she would be taking some time away from performing  to focus on her health after revealing her stiff person syndrome diagnosis.</p> <p>At the time, she said the condition did not allow her “to sing the way I’m used to”.</p> <p>According to the <a href="https://www.ninds.nih.gov/health-information/clinical-trials/cause-development-and-progression-stiff-person-syndrome#:~:text=Stiff%2Dperson%20syndrome%20(SPS),recurrent%20falls%20and%20impaired%20ambulation." target="_blank" rel="noopener">National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke</a>, stiff person syndrome is “a rare, progressive syndrome that affects the nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord.”</p> <p>According to an official synopsis, <em>I Am: Celine Dion</em> will give viewers an intimate look inside her life “as she reveals her battle with stiff person syndrome (SPS) and the lengths she has gone to continue performing for her beloved and loyal fans”.</p> <p>Capturing over a year’s worth of Dion’s life, including “never-before-seen” private moments, the film will showcase the legendary singer navigating “her journey toward living an open and authentic life amidst illness”.</p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images </em></p>

<p>Céline Dion has taken fans by surprise - and given them something to be excited about after a challenging year - with her latest career announcement.</p> <p>The singer, who in 2021 was forced to cancel shows due to illness, has revealed that she will be releasing her first new music in almost four years. </p> <p>“Love comes to those who believe it,” Dion first wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of her upcoming film with co-stars Sam Heughan and Priyanka Chopra, alongside the announcement that the movie would feature “new music from me [Dion]”. </p> <p>The single ‘Love Again’ shares a name with the movie, and will feature on its soundtrack.</p> <p>A day before the song’s release, Dion returned to her social media with another post, and fans were quick to share their excitement with their singing superstar. </p> <p>“SO EXCITED, it’s Celine's first song in 4 years!!!” one gushed. </p> <p>“We are waiting!!!! We miss you, but want you well of course!!!” another said. </p> <p>“Can't wait! The Queen returns to her RIGHTFUL throne!” came one declaration. </p> <p>“Been waiting for this magical remarkable moment since they finished the movie last year … still worth the wait,” one wrote, before adding that everyone missed her. “Speedy recovery Queen. Can’t wait to see [yo]u again soon.”</p> <p>Dion’s last single ‘Courage’ released in 2019, right before the singer took a step back from the limelight, reportedly due to both the pandemic and her own declining health. </p> <p>Late in 2022, Dion provided fans some insight into her situation, sharing a video on YouTube to explain what was going on in her day-to-day life, and the challenges she was facing - the same challenges that had led to the cancellation of her stage appearances.</p> <p>“I sometimes have a lot of difficulty walking and I can't always use my vocal cords to sing as I would like,” she confessed. </p> <p>It was revealed that Dion suffers from SPS (otherwise known as Stiff-Person Syndrome), a condition that causes both muscle spasms and severe pain. </p> <p>And as the star’s sister, Claudette Dion, told <em>Le Journal de Montreal</em>, the family have high hopes that Dion may yet be able to return to the stage. </p> <p>And while Claudette had previously been hesitant to discuss her sister’s health journey, she could now tell the publication that Dion had “done it with composure” while making her YouTube content, “I know she was holding herself back. It wasn’t done in a moment of crisis, with tears, in distress. Celebrities pose with their younger selves in stunning art series

<p>Dutch graphic designer<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B6Bmadul1H9/" target="_blank">Ard Gelinck</a><span> </span>has spent his time for the last ten years creating pictures of celebrities posing with their younger selves.</p> <p>Gelinck uses Photoshop to create the iconic masterpieces, which are perfectly edited to appear side by side the older celebrity.</p> <p>He spoke to<span> </span><em><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.unilad.co.uk/celebrity/artist-creates-incredible-pictures-of-celebrities-posing-with-their-younger-selves/" target="_blank">UNILAD</a></em><span> </span>about his hobby, saying that he has been creative since he was a child.</p> <p>“I often challenge myself to create a certain series of images, including the ‘then and now’ series that you see a lot now,” he explained.</p> <p>“The ideas come up and the celebrities that I choose are often random.”</p> <p>Gelinck has received a lot of attention for his creations, with many of his celebrity subjects sharing his creations on their social media pages. However, he stays humble.</p> <p>“I was pleasantly surprised when it was picked up by various media worldwide. Céline Dion originally didn't want to record hit song My Heart Will Go On

<p>It apparently took a little coaxing to get Céline Dion to get on board with the soundtrack to the 1997 film <em>Titanic</em>.</p> <p>On a chat with Andy Cohen on <em><a href="https://youtu.be/conBmLdtUEw">Watch What Happens Live</a></em>, Dion admitted that she wasn’t initially a fan of <em>My Heart Will Go On</em>.</p> <p>“It is true,” she confirmed to Cohen, 51, and his audience members, after being asked about her original thoughts on the song, adding that she’s “glad they didn’t listen to me” and recorded the song anyway.</p> <p>“It didn’t appeal to me. I was probably very tired that day — <em>very</em> tired,” Dion continued. “My husband [the late René Angélil] said, ‘Let’s hold on.’ He talked to the writer and he said, ‘Let’s try to make it, like, a little demo.'”</p> <p>“I sang the song once and they built the orchestra around it. I never re-sang it for the recording. So the demo is the actual recording,” she recalled, joking, “But after that, I’ve sang it about three gazillion times.”</p> <p>The song debuted at Number 1 on the <em>Billboard</em> Hot 100 chart on February 28<sup>th</sup>, 1998 and propelled the soundtrack of the film to a 16-week run at the top spot. The album sold more than 15 million copies worldwide and won Best Original Song at the 1998 Academy Awards and won a Grammy Award for Record of The Year.</p> <p>However, Dion has since come around to the song and says that it now “means a lot to me”.</p> <p>“This song means a lot to me, and it has played such a huge role in my career,” <a href="https://people.com/music/billboard-music-awards-2017-celine-dion-performs-my-heart-will-go-on/">she said in a statement prior</a> to the ceremony that year. “I’m so grateful to the late James Horner, and to Will Jennings, for writing it and creating the opportunity for me to be part of <em>Titanic — </em>an amazing film whose legacy will continue for generations to come.”</p>

Celine Dion hits back at body shamers: “I’ve always been very thin”

<p>Celine Dion has fired back at body shamers after people have criticised the singer for being too thin.</p> <p>The 51-year-old addressed the negative comments in an interview with<span> </span><em>ET</em>, saying that there was nothing wrong with her.</p> <p>“I do ballet. "I miss to be hugged": Celine Dion's emotional confession

<p>Award-winning singer Celine Dion has confirmed that she’s still “not ready to date” after her husband <span>René's</span> passing back in 2016.</p> <p>Dion sat down with NBC’s Sheinelle Jones on the<span> </span><em>TODAY</em><span> </span>show and admitted that she pours herself into her work and a new tour instead of dating.</p> <p>“I don't date,” Dion said matter-of-factly.</p> <p>“I'm not ready to date. “He’s fully taken over”: Why Celine Dion's friends are worried about her “boy toy"

<p>Celine Dion is known as a music icon around the world, but there are concerns amongst her closest friends that she’s being too heavily influenced by her backup dancer and close friend Pepe Munoz.</p> <p>The 51-year-old <em>My Heart Will Go On</em> singer has been very close to Munoz after her husband René Angélil passed away at the age of 73 in 2016.</p> <p>Munoz has been described as her “boy toy” but Dion has said herself that he is gay and her “best friend”.</p> <p><em>The New York Post</em>'s <a rel="noopener" href="https://pagesix.com/2019/07/29/celine-dions-dancer-boy-toy-calling-the-shots-for-legendary-singer/" target="_blank">Page Six</a> has reported that some people in Dion’s inner circle fear that Munoz is “isolating” the star from her friends and “taking over” her life.</p> <p>“Pepe is like her boy toy who is really trying to take over. But if you’re Celine Dion then you’re most likely going to need an entire warehouse to store all of your footwear.</p> <p>The singer, who has a residency at Las Vegas’ Caesar’s Palace, let James Corden in on her obsession with shoes during a <em>Carpool Karaoke</em> segment last week.</p> <p>When originally asked the question, Celine admitted to owning 3000-5000 pairs of shoes, but after a bit more heckling, she finally gave away the correct number.</p> <p>Corden went on to say that he had heard a rumour of the performer owning up to 10,000 pairs of shoes, to which Celine said was possible.</p> <p>“Maybe. I didn’t want to say it,” she admitted.</p> <p>But the question on everyone’s minds was: Where does someone with that many pairs of shoes possibly keep them?</p> <p>“I have a place in Las Vegas … let’s call it a warehouse,” revealed the 51-year-old.</p> <p>And while having a separate property just for shoes seems extravagant, Dion went on to explain that her former home in Florida had an entirely computerised system to help categorise her shoes.</p> <p>“I had a system, it was computerised, and I would press, and the door would open,” she revealed.</p> <p>“I would press another button and they would turn.”</p> <p>She said that the shoes were colour coordinated to make it easier for her to pick and choose between them.</p> <p>The chosen pair of shoes would then be presented on a thick glass counter, filled with crushed diamonds – but while it seems over-the-top, it isn’t as lavish as you may think.</p> <p>“Not real diamonds, just to make sure that you don’t think that I’m loco,” Dion said.</p> <p>In 2017, the <em>My Heart Will Go On </em>singer spoke to<em> <a rel="noopener" href="https://wwd.com/" target="_blank">WWD</a> </em>about her hoarding habits, saying she finds it difficult to throw things away as they hold sentimental value.</p> <p>“They’re part of every step that I take, and I have an attachment to it,” she told the publication.</p> <p>But during the hilarious <em>Carpool Karaoke</em> segment, Dion didn’t seem to have a choice as she was forced to part ways with her favourite pairs of shoes by giving them away to strangers along the Las Vegas strip.</p> <p>Despite being reluctant, Dion managed to give a few pairs away to lucky walkers-by. But while it seemed to be in good fun, it doesn’t look like the performer will be downsizing her collection anytime soon.  </p>

<p>She took to the stage for eight years in Las Vegas, and now, Celine Dion has proven that she is still the ultimate performer.</p> <p>The 51-year-old stepped out for the Met Gala in a shimmering number, which according to <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.eonline.com/au" target="_blank"><em>E!</em></a>, weighed a heavy 10 kilograms.</p> <p>The <em>My Heart Will Go On</em> singer opted for the Oscar de la Renta gown which was covered top-to-bottom in sequins, champagne-coloured tassels and all-round extravagance.</p> <p>She then finished off her look with a pair of T-strap shoes, chandelier earrings and dazzling rings.</p> <p>The Grammy-winner went for a dramatic makeup look with smokey eyeliner and bright gold eyeshadow.</p> <p>She kept the rest of her face quite neutral, opting for a nude lip.</p> <p>The Met Gala is an annual fashion event where those invited are asked to stick to a particular theme. This year, attendees were told the look of the evening was Camp: Notes on Fashion.</p> <p>Camp is defined as over-the-top extravagance, which seems obvious after scrolling through the looks on the Met carpet.</p> <p>Speaking to <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.eonline.com/au" target="_blank"><em>E!</em></a>, Celine said that she was grateful for the team that brought her look together.</p> <p>“My look tonight is Oscar de la Renta....Everybody who was part of it put their hearts into it. It was to try to make it something magical. I don't want to take it off! <p>Pop star Celine Dion has announced her first North American tour in more than a decade, much to the delight of her fans. She has also announced a new album called “Courage”, which was inspired by life after the sad death of her husband and manager René Angelil.</p> <p>Dion, 51, shared the exciting announcement at a live performance show in Los Angeles. Celine Dion speaks out after dramatic weight loss

<p>Celine Dion has hit back at body shamers about her sudden weight loss, saying that if they don’t like the way she looks, they should “leave [her] alone”.</p> <p>Dion shocked fans with her gaunt appearance in Paris, whilst attending Fashion Week.</p> <p>However, this didn’t stop the <em>My Heart Would Go On</em> singer from firing back at those who have raised their concern.</p> <p><img style="width: 0px; height: 0px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7823144/celine-dion.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/77f3b75f6a3c492e93dc53e60241c859" /></p> <p>The 50-year-old spoke on <em>The Dan Wotton Interview</em> podcast about the comments and criticism saying:</p> <p>“I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy. If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it,” she expressed.</p> <p>“Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture. If you like it, I’ll be there.
